Blogging 101: Days 6-10 [unfinished]

Week two of Blogging 101 is long over and I am due to some updates on what we have been doing so far. Here we go!

Day Six: Make an Irresistible “About” Page

I already changed my About Page during my first week of Blogging 101, so I left it as it was as I am quite happy with it right now. That may, of course, change whenever I reach something worth reporting on. So keep checking that About page 😉

Day Seven: Keep Personalizing

This assignment was supposed to help us create a header and/or background that fit our blogs. As you can see on my blog, I now have a header image. It’s a photo I took myself in Amsterdam. Hope you like it.

Also, we were supposed to try out new widgets, something that I did and found very helpful. When I started out this blog, I already had some widgets that I liked but ever since, WP added some wonderful widgets that are quite useful to me. You can now find a widget displaying my Goodreads “currently reading” shelf, and an overview of my latest tweets. Take a look. You might find an interesting book to read!

Day Eight: Be a Good Neighbor

Being a good neighbor means reading other blogs and leaving comments on posts that we liked, that inspired us, or that we might perhaps not agree with. For day eight, we were to leave comments on at least four blogs that we’ve never commented on before. I took a look at fellow Blogging 101 participants and also went to take a look at the tags I follow to find blog posts I wanted to comment on.

Day Nine: Get Inspired By the Neighbors

We have to write a blog post that was inspired by an entry that we read and commented on for day eight. This is currently still in work. I’ll link to it as soon as it’s done.

Day Ten: Build a Better Blogroll

I created a widget for the last five posts I liked. That way, readers will get a better understanding of what I like and also find something new waiting for them on the blog every time they visit here.
