Blogging 101: Days 1-5

The first week of Blogging 101 is coming to an end and I finally have time to do the tasks. As you may have noticed, my blog’s look changed a little.

This is how my blog changed in the first week of Blogging 101.

For Day One, I changed my About page, focusing more on what I intend to blog about, being more positive about myself and naming a (vague) schedule for my posts. In the future, I’ll try to post something at least once a week. Knowing that I have a lot of stuff to do in Uni, I don’t think that I’ll be able to post more often than that in the next few months.

For Day Two, I changed my tagline. I am very happy with the title of my blog, so I won’t change that. Not sure, if the tag line will stay the way it is but I felt like trying out something new. The quote that you can now see really spoke to me. What do you think? Does it fit my blog?

THE POINT OF MY WORK IS TO SHOW THAT CULTURE AND EDUCATION AREN’T SIMPLY HOBBIES OR MINOR INFLUENCES.

For Day Three, we were supposed to follow five tags and five blogs. I don’t really want to follow more tags than I already do, as it overwhelms me to see ALL THESE POSTS. I do browse my tags from time to time to find something interesting to read, though. I will keep doing this my way. I did, however, follow new blogs. Because, damn, there are some neat blogs out there. These are the blogs that I decided to follow (in no particular order):

Day Four wants us to publish a post for our ideal reader, while trying out something new. I decided to publish my review of a graphic novel. It was the first time I received a book to review it. So this is my trying something out. My interest in comic books is only growing, and I think you can see that on my blog as well. I want to focus on publishing reviews, be it comic books, novels, movies or tv shows. I am interested in various kinds of culture and I would like to share my love with my readers.

For Day Five, we had to try out new themes. And guess what: that was really interesting to do. I remember how frustrated I was when I first looked for a good theme for my blog. I was really happy with it, and saw no real need to change it. Still, trying out doesn’t hurt, right? New theme, yay! I really, really like it. It has a search button! That was the one thing that really bothered me with my last one. I couldn’t search for stuff easily. Now, that is a thing of the past. I no longer have my Sherlock-y background picture (*sniff*). Maybe I’ll find a way to integrate it…

That was it. I already feel like I have accomplished something this year. This is a really nice feeling to have at the beginning of January. How was your experience of the first Blogging 101 week? Share your experience in the comments!
